$23 to fill my car last night and I was darn near close to running out of gas when I got there

gas price was $1.58 at food bag if you paid cash, this is at Cumbies and the price is the same cash or credit

  1. Holy moly!
Alarming thought: If the oil companies start refining LESS gas because they can't make as big a profit at these prices, there may be a gas SHORTAGE as demand goes up (because of lower prices). I remember those lines at the gas station in the 70s. Oh boy!

  2. oh no those lines were terrible, I remember driving to the beach in RI with my Dad and waiting in that line and I thought we were never going to get back home again

  3. I was living in South Jersey at that time - outside Atlantic City - didn't have trouble getting gas there but I had to be very careful about planning a trip up to see my mother in North Jersey. I had a little volkswagen bug - stopped to get gas on the Garden State Parkway - there was a 10 gallon limit on every one - they only let me have 5 gallons because I had a bug and "didn't need it like the other drivers did"!! I was furious at being discriminated against because of my choice of car with a better gas mileage than everyone else ..... nothing that I vould do about that rule. But I did go get in another line and got 5 more gallons before I left the gas station.

  4. Sorry I didn't make it over, I ended up in a conversation with Nik (a really good one) and it seemed too late afterward to stop by.
