Back in Berkeley Heights, when I was a teenager, my mother had a couple of bleeding heart plants tucked into the space between the house and a hedge by the back door. They never got big - only a foot or so high - but they bloomed faithfully every Spring. I used to love looking at the string of pink flowers dangling from a branch!
Looking back on it, I'm amazed that they made it from year to year - the soil was poor and there sure wasn't much sun - tough, determined little plants!

My bleeding heart took a bad hit from the frost, I'm debating whether I should cut it back...
ReplyDeleteHappy Mom's Day :)
