Invisable Visitors....

I have not seen who came to the feeders but I am guessing, a rabbit, red squirrel, grey squirrel and the ground feeding birds

Like this Blue Jay, I had 5 at one time this morning

Hide and seek....

I picked up a cat teaser yesterday, the birds haven't gotten the word about it yet but Jethro is waiting....

  1. I love it when cats sit the way Jethro is sitting, it's so cute!
That's a lot of tracks...Are any of them deer??

  2. How perfect that Jethro is sitting right by the bird feeder. Smart cat!

We have a couple of bird feeders and a netted bag for finches, but the birds aren't around as much from Oct - April. In the spring, mockingbirds will be everywhere.

  3. no deer Madeleine, I guess when we had that old apple tree we had deer in the yard at night, I never saw them my neighbor did, we had to cut the tree down so the birds and the deer are not to happy about it, but the birds still come

  4. Mockingbirds would be fun to have around, aren't they the ones that will peck you in the head if you get too close to their nest?

  5. I thought mockingbirds repeated the sounds of other birds

  6. Yes, the mockingbirds are pretty fierce. Whiskers gets dive-bombed quite a lot in the Spring.

During April/May, the cats can't walk along the fence without getting attacked. Of course, Whiskers does her share of summer bird hunting (which gets her yelled at a lot), so we don't feel too sorry for her when the mockingbirds get her.

  15. How cool is that? I must get a cat teaser for my little girl cat whom we saved from the quirk ice storm about 8 weeks ago!

Jethro is a hilarious name choice. Is he, perchance of hillbilly stock?

I have many a bird and squirrel feeder in the garden, and the hummingbirds are here year round, so that's important too, but the baby kitty (three years old) would enjoy watching...
