Sometimes I get an invite to go to a company function at work, this one was for Utica Mutual. They did this last year too and the year before that I went for another company, Andover Companies. They just have us worker bee's for lunch or dinner at various locations. This is St. Clements Castle, in Portland CT. I recommend if you ever get a chance to visit here. You can tour the castle and see all the furniture inside and rooms that have all handcarved moldings, chairs, tables, etc.

And here is Wendy admiring the river from way up high, boats were buzzing up and down the river yesterday. The weather could not have been any better. They served us steak, ribs, clam chowder, salad, corn on the cob, watermelon and fudge brownies and last, free drinks, Wendy isn't much of a drinker so we made up a new one for her called Wendy Lemonade. Raspberry Vodka, Lemonade and Sprite, after she got it the whole group was asking for it, very refreshing on a nice sunny warm day.

Gosh - it is beautiful - I love old architecture like that!! What a fine perk! I wish Cheryl could go back to work with you all on a part-time basis - I think she misses this kind of thing.
yep she certainly is missed!! But I wish I could do what she does now, sometimes I just hate getting up and having to go to work every day, part time would be better for sure.
The grass is always greener...except where the dog poops are.
Retirement is a wonderful place to have reached. All the effort it takes to be a steady, dependable and productive worker is worth it - just remember to live BELOW your means and sock away the money so that you can have a comfortable financial level in your retirement. Most people aren't educated (or disciplined) about saving money for their future. Working as a greeter at Walmart is only fun if you don't have to do it.
