Your last picture of the cows especially shows that winter is closing in - fast! Love that stone wall - the only way that we can get stones that size here is to import them from points north.
I was surprised to find that there are beavers here also - they live in a little swamp-like pond about 2 miles from here.
Your pond reminded me of that beautiful picture that the artist asked if she could paint a picture of for an artist contest that she was participating in - I never heard how she did.
That is the same pond they lady painted Biddie. She wrote me and said she didn't win but she had a great time painting it. She sent me a picture of the finished product too.
Those cows would not come near me, I called and they just stood there staring at me.
That log is actually part of the guardrails on the side of the road that rotted out, be careful driving there in a snowstorm, you will slid right off the road into the beaver pond!

I wonder if the beaver tried to carry off that log for his roof (2nd pic)?
