I came home from being on vacation to see our grass is fried. Ray not too happy about this but not much could be done , we need rain.
I am not going to start sunflowers from seed again, these were dropped in the garden by birds and they are growing just fine. Mine on the other hand, not, they died or were dug up by some critter

Poor Harley! Did you check him over to see if he has any puncture wounds? He's acting as if something went after him, perhaps another cat attacked him? Those bites can get nasty infected. I hope he feels better soon!
He doesn't have war wounds. I think the mites are really getting to him. I put stuff in his ears which makes them come out so my only idea is, it feels to him like he has bugs in head, he shakes his head a lot and you can't even touch his head but when I go to clean out the ears, he scratches, it just looks nasty and I feel bad for him. Hopefully Saturday they can give him something better than what I have. I got it at Emmons last year when he had mites. I don't know why they get them do you?
While it's not really the time of the year that people might be using anti-freeze, I'd at least call the vet to ask if there is anything that you can give him to help his stomach in case he was covered in either oil or antifreeze. Oil could make him really sick but antifreeze can kill him and he doesn't look good!!!!! I hope that he returns to good health AND quickly!!!! Sounds like something might have also scared him ....
The bad patch in your grass looks like a pattern of some kind - was there poor shallow soil there or the remains of a place where people could have packed the soil down by driving over it?
The patch is where our septic leach fields are. Did I spell that right? Ray Told corey his business was killing our grass!!
I have been putting ear mite stuff in his ears and it is really bugging him. He is a sad fellow right now, just miserable. This is how he acted last time he had them too and once they cleared up he was better. The oil slick on his back was grease or oil and I think from the lawn mower. I will wash him off with dawn just like they have been doing in the gulf.
Poor kitty. Could be an infection deep down in the ear.
How's Harley doing today? I hope he's feeling better!
I left you a note on FB ~ Steve Howard's garage/barn was broken into. I guess he had a bunch of copper in there, new & used, and it was stolen. I would have thought since your street has so many folks on it you guys would be pretty safe from that!
I heard the Taylor's house was ransacked recently too ~ someone saw a white van w/blue stripes & 3 men. So be careful!
Makes me nervous ~ we have a huge pile of copper in front of the garage in plain sight.
Who are the Taylors? How come it's always a white van! ha ha. She called our house too, she thought maybe it was some guy that worked with steve but she wasn't sure. Our block is pretty quiet I am surprised someone would go there right out in the open too. Damn robbers, they really piss me off, I work hard to buy things I want and they just come steal it, get a job losers!!
Harley is better today thanks for checking. Tomorrow @ 8am I take him to the vet. I cleaned out the scum in his ears last night, he seemed happy I did it.
I don't think Steve mentioned in his message to Dave that they thought it was a worker, Dave didn't call Steve back so I don't know.
Maybe the mom goes by another name, but her son is Alex Taylor and he went to school with Nik.
Mrs. Irwin saw the van and the men scoping out houses, or something like that. Your mom told Dave about it.
A few days ago I had a guy driving slow by the house, then back up towards the garage & stop. I ran to get the phone & by the time I got outside he had left. Creeped me out, I didn't recognize him or his truck.
I'm glad Harley is feeling better :)
