my banana loves me

I have been going to the gym 4 days a week for 4 weeks now and lost about 7 pounds.
I feel better and I am not sore any more unless I use a machine that I don't normally use and I put more weight on it.  I have even increased some of the weights on some machines.  I have a ways to go but I can already tell it's working.  I don't know why I was putting it off before but glad I am going now, I feel bad even if I miss a day which I did once so I had to make it up on a different day which happened to be a Monday and once a month on Monday's they have pizza night!  Torture I tell you, they brought in 10 pizza's while I am sweating my a$$ off and that's all I could smell.  After I was done and leaving, I walked right past that pizza and went home to have dinner.   Trying to watch what I eat, calories vs carbs, jeez what a pain in my head trying to figure out which is better to cut out?  How does any one diet??  I just don't get it all.  Low fat, low sodium, no fat, no sugar....

Hmmm, you are certainly full of mystery these days, lol!

After falling again on the ice a few days back, and now catching David's cold I'm not ready for the gym yet. But I have started clearing away where the snow has melted in my garden :) I have daffies poking up!! I want to get my yard in order because I'll be very busy with the Gaylord garden and also working with Maureen at the center.

Hopefully that will help start getting me in better shape :)

Congratulations on your shaping up and weight loss! I've been seriously avoiding sodium--too much in everyhing you buy-- because of high blood pressure, and I've managed to lose about 16 pounds over the last 14 months without dieting. It seems that whatever has a lot of salt also has a lot of sugar and fat so I only have to read one thing on a label. And I try to walk every day for 30 minutes. I feel so much better!

Congratulations are to both of you! I have also found salt to be a major factor in weight control. I no longer use salt at all in any of my food - it is actually additive in a way. I can immediately taste it if I'm eating over at someone's house and they have used it when cooking - I can gain 3 pounds overnight from water retention when I've had some.

On the other hand, in summer's heat, when I know that I'll be out working in it and sweating a lot, I'll use just a little salt on my food ...

Wow P that is great! I think all the food we buy now a days is so much different than 20-30 years ago, too much processing. Kids are so big and have these pot belly that they just should not have at 10 or so years old. I was a scrawny skinny little kid and so were all my friends, of course we were always outside, no tv and not being allowed in the house until dinner time was a good thing

So I have been tryin to watch what I eat and trying to get Ray to do it too isn't so easy, he loves his food! I don't have high BP but I do watch the sodium too because like you said too much can't be good and you just proved it by losing all those pounds!

Biddie, salt on corn on the cob and steak is a must have in summer!
