Motorcross season has officially begun again

Boy was it cold and windy too!  Good thing the sun was out, we sat on the bleachers and soaked up the warm sun on our faces but when the clouds came it was mighty chilly.  Corey had 4 races, I have not heard from him yet on what he got. My nephew Tyler raced also, and they raced together in the last race.

Assuming that is Corey, I bet this photo will be one that he really likes in the years to come - a good action shot!

What class or age group is Corey now in?

Hi Kristen. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I appreciate your visit and comment.

We have an old run down farm but we also have a brand new barn where we keep around 70 milking Holstein cows, We have about 70 replacement heifers and calves. We keep our herd at around 140 heads.

We farm about 300 acres of hay and silage for our cows and our fields are certified organic.

We live by the beautiful ST John River and live with the possibility of flooding every spring but so far we have only flooded badly about 4 times if I'm correct.

Since a couple of years ago, I'm in charge of caring for calves and doing some general cleaning and scrubbing that the guys don't like to do.

The most calves that I had to care for at one time was 15 and that was a lot for an old lady like me. My husband had to help me feed some of them.

I also feed the bigger calves and heifers their hay and give them bedding. I climb in the hay loft to get their hay and get plenty of exercises. I do odd jobs around the farm too. I also do office work and pay bills etc. I go to town to pick up calf feed and medicine at the vet lab.
In the summer I do all the yard maintenance and gardens. I never sit in the sun but always get a dark tan.

This looks like a classic photo of for the sport. Nice enough to get it framed.

I've only got a little bit of time for my on-line friends.

I hope that this answers some of your questions about our old farm. JB

wow Julia That is a lot of work, you must be in great shape! I just joined the gym because after 20 or so years of not doing much excercise, I figured it was about time.

We used to have a couple cows when I was growing up that we butchered and had meat for a long time. I never liked that we were eating what I considered a pet. I loved when they were little. We always had horses too, mY sister still has some.. I just don't have time, and money for it. I would love to live in an old farm house or a real old vintage house with a nice barn and a pond... dreamer I am!
So glad I met you, you are very inspiring to me that you work so hard, not everybody is like that now a days

Where do you sell your milk?
