Tree Swallows

Ok here we go Blogger is co-operating for some reason.
My roof blew off this house last year and I hadn't gotten around to fixing it but these Tree Swallows don't care.  They have taken over the bottom and every hole.  I am having so much fun just sitting outside and watching them fly all about my yard, they look like bats sometimes and chatter a lot

Oh, I love swallows. They fly so close, curious abut us. I saw 3 of them bathing in a puddle this morning, barn swallows.

I just bought some plastic swallow "gourds" that were on the clearance shelf at Tractor Supply on Tuesday.

Putting them together was at first like some kind of Chinese puzzle ~~ that was an unintended joke because I did notice that they were made in China ....

Hope it's not too late in the season for them to be found by some homeless swallows.

P.S. Now they have a roof-top deck just like all the best pent house apartments!

I put up my house 2 years ago and just now got birds in it. I'm having so much fun watching these swallows. I never realized there are barn swallows and tree swallows, thanks to Sibleys!!!

You inspired me to turn my owl house into a potential tree swallow house. David put it on a pole for me out by the peonies. So far no luck, but I have my fingers crossed!

My owl house broke as we were trying to hang it in the tree, it was too darn heavy for Ray to hold while on a ladder and screwing so he was climbing back down and the roof as he was holding on to it, broke, I can repair it but it won't be going up high in a tree that way again!!

I'm sure you will get something in the house, you have plenty of other fun critters over there

Did that cornflower make it? I can dig up more if it didn't ~ slightly smaller so maybe it will transplant better.

yes I planted it and gave it some water and of course it rained like a banchee, it's standing up straight too, Thanks!!!

Oh good, I was worried because it wilted down so fast when I dug it up. The columbine you gave me is doing well ~ I love the double blossoms!
