RT 219 in Barkhamsted, I saw this on the road, he must have just gotten hit, I first thought it was someone's dog so I turned around and it looks like a bobcat, I could be wrong, so if you know what it is, please let me know.

Hi - yes it is sad to see this - poor animals just aren't made to deal with fast moving cars - they don't recognize the danger to themselves.
I can't quite tell without seeing the facial structures but I think that you are right - perhaps a young bobcat.
Do you have to report the sighting to the rangers?
I am not sure if I am supposed to report it, but I was among many other commuters coming home from work, I wonder who hit it? Someone told me not to touch it, you can get in trouble, I told some of the locals to go grab it to stuff since it was in such good shape. I hate to see stuffed wildlife but if it was already dead, what's the harm?
Aw....That's sad.....Looks like a Bobcat...... That's so sad :(
You dn't know if it had rabies and was acting erraticly and was therefore hit. Best not to touch it, I'd say.
