Santa's workshop, part one

Well here is my "faux" tree, yep I bit the bullet last year and got me a fake tree, I know I know, I thought I would NEVER do that. I am a country girl, live in the boonies, we don't get fake trees up here where I live! But on the other hand, who comes over to see it? Who has to go get it? Pay $50+ for it, decorate it? clean up the mess, water it? ME! So this is the second year I have had it, well worth the $70 I paid and it came pre lit!! It comes in three parts, takes 10 minutes to put together and I hear no complaining!! So there is my reasoning

These are called Punch Rug, kind of like punch needle but bigger and not exactly the same as rug hooking because you do it from behind and your pattern is backwards, which explains why my flag is wrong, after I made the whole thing I realized I made it backwards, Oh well, that is a special one of a kind gift for someone!!

More punch rug, the star is going to be put on a little foot stool as a decoration, I saw this in a magazine I buy and the tree is a chair pad decoration

And here we have the giant chicken! I know he is a rooster but I keep calling him a chicken, my friend wants this sign for her son for Christmas, he is selling eggs with his chicken farm he started at 15 years old, he is quite the business man, his name will be arched at the top and the bottom have some rocks and water as you may be able to see from the picture at top, that is his logo he made up, this is going to be hung up on his big red barn. I have to finish it up this weekend so I can get some poly on it since it will be outside in the elements

too sad... a Cardinal hit our window at work so I ran out to see if he was ok, sometimes they hit and just get stunned, this one was bleeding from his beak and lifeless :( I was sad I had to pick him up and move him to the woods. Cardinals are so neat to see especially in the winter when we have snow so it is even more sad to see one of those hit the window, and his wife if probably out there wondering where he is, they are always here in a pair...

What I made on Crafty Monday's

I know I am not Picaso but these are what I have painted in my basement when the girls come over on Monday's to make Christmas gifts for our friends. I have some punch rug stuff too but am not quite done yet with those.

First big storm of the winter season

I was driving to work in this and the state road was probably the worst I had seen that I can remember, I think they didn't expect this much snow. I turned off the main road to a side road that I take to work and just about hit this tow truck parked smack dab in the middle of the road, stupid place to park, he was picking up a car at a house, so after about 5 minutes he finally moved his truck so I could get by. My normal 15-20 minute commute was about 45 minutes in 4WD in the Tahoe, if I took my car (Nissan Altima) I never would have made it out of my driveway

It snowed

He's been framed!!

This is Jethro sleeping on my spare bed just a few minutes ago. Excuse me for not making it, Ray has been sick and I have been sleeping here for the last 2 nights, but back to the real story here. Jethro gets blamed for lots of things out in the neighborhood and I keep saying he has a twin out there that is doing this stuff and no one believes me




Well I caught him in the act, spraying our trailer. That dirty scumbag, I looked out my window and he was up on the deck scratching the post!!! So then he ran down the stairs and backed up and sprayed all over the trailer, last week I saw him doing it to our shed but I never had my camera in hand to get proof

Now I don't know who he belongs to but I have to figure out how to get him to stop spraying all over my yard, no wonder I don't get any birds any more, his scent is probably scaring them away, I heard that sprinkling red hot pepper around will help, any other suggestions??
