See this side of the shed??

I was thinking of putting up either those tree's that grow sideways or a trellis kind of thing that I saw at Ocean State

I envy you that hosta! What are those trees called...it's a funny word for when they are pruned like that, I can't think of it..I think that would be very cool! Hmmm, it's bugging me now...what is that word??!!

The word is espalier!! Gosh it was driving me nuts before when I couldn't think of it. Whew, I can go to bed now.

You are pretty smart there lady, you knew exactly what I meant. Charlie has two of them, I will ask him where he got them, do you think there is enough sunlight there?

Depends on what you get, and I'm not sure about how much sun you get there...I'm sure there are part sun/part shade trees you can buy.

That hosta is great - you are lucky that you aren't swamped with a herd of deer - they like to eat them. I have three of them that kept getting eaten down to the nubbins - I had to put them in pots and put them inside that old cottage by the porch windows. Now they are doing good - I just have to keep remembering to water them now.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I think the hanging flower baskets in between the level of the plants in your border and the level of the porch deck is very effective!

The only thing that got the Hosta one year was a car!! Ray's secretary drove him home one day and backed out of the drive way right over it, I cut it back and it came back again, year after year. I think it is getting bigger every year too. Deer don't usually come to our yard, we are too out in the open. I see more deer down in the town I work in that has a human population of I think 40k by now. We have so much more woods here.

I forgot to mention - the back of your shed is just begging fir a trellis and some vines ....

oops - pardon the typo - I meant "for" not "fir" .... makes more sense this way.

I thought you meant a fir trellis and wondered what that was!! Shows you how much I know.
Any how driving home I was looking there and thought how bare it looks, we did plant some trees in front of it last year and they died, plus Ray hates to mow around things so the tree that grows flat against it will be perfect
