Today and yesterday I had this "extra large" woodpecker show up at my feeders. I tried my best to get a picture, this is all I got. I had a small one on one side and the big on on the other, I wish I got a picture of them together to show you how much bigger this one was.

Wow! How cool! We had woodpeckers once, and they were red, but they haven't returned yet.
Your woodpecker looks so spiffy in his fancy black-n-white jacket.
I guess that woodpeckers don't migrate south for the winter from your area ...
I finally hung up a feeder on the porch, so far the birds haven't found it...makes me sad :(
I worry that they moved on since I stopped feeding them for so long.
They will come back Cheryl, mine did, give it some time.
