Sorry for the blur but this is the first bluebird I have seen in my yard, I have been trying to attract them for a few years with meal worms and houses they like so maybe it finally worked! I'm going to get some meal worms this week!

They are such beautiful little birds - congratulations!!! There were a couple that spent the winter here in this area - I'd see them ever so often but not for the last week or so. They must have already started their journey north - take good care of them!!!
How awesome :) I've only seen one bluebird in my yard after all these years. I hope yours decides to move in.
You are so lucky to have them in your backyard. I hear they need wide open spaces to thrive. I saw some a few years ago (with binoculars)in the Calverton grasslands where boxes had been put up like yours.
Very cool! I've yet to see one in my yard.
We also have a kestril (Sp?) flying over head our neighborhood, my neighbor pointed it out to me.
I don't really live near open fields but there are some around us and some ponds. I just called the Emmons pet store and they have meal worms so I am going at lunch to get some!! I have to clean out my houses too from last years birdies that lived there. I had some house wrens and chickadee's make homes there in the past
