Hum, maybe some sort of ptarmigan or quail? How big was it?
I guess crow size, was it a grouse?
Dave saw the huge black bear yesterday, we think the same one that stared me down & isn't afraid of shotguns. The bear was leaving the Isabel's orchard & Dave chased him with the box truck to the swamp.
The spooky thing is I was in the garden all morning, he must have been right next to me :(
Oh, maybe, I don't know. Where in the center was it?
Oh dear good thing that Bear left you alone, I think they do mostly unless they have cubs. The bird was walking on the front lawn of that new house near Parmalee's that looks like an office building
It's a female pheasant. There was one by my house in the late fall.
Oh Thanks Maureen! I knew one of you guys would know. She kind of waddled around the grass and ran when I got closer with my car
Congratulations on your sightings! I looked pheasants up in my Sibley's - apparently they aren't found this far south.
I would certainly run if YOU got closer in your car, you wrathful woman, you.
Ha ha Sorry P, I can't help it my foot is full of lead.
