Just mind-blowing prices - I don't see how us regular folk can buy them. This is one reason (the other is the long cold winters) why I want to stay down here. Those houses are so fine-looking - it's a shame they cost so much.
As a way to compare - my little brick-covered, 1352 sq. ft ranch style house on 2.5 acres cost $60,000 - I probably paid $5000 too much at the time but I needed a place to stay and I wanted to encourage the seller to think that he had a "sucker" and not change his mind about selling - sort of calculating on my part but I didn't particularly want him as a neighbor (really strange little man) ... Here's a picture of it.
Nope I can't do down south either, as much as I hate cold, I love snow and I love the changes in seasons here. Fall leaves are so nice and Christmas time is the best time to look at the decorations, lights and stuff people put on thier houses especially if there is snow. Halloween has become my favorite though, Cheryl and I have become the local gobins at my house handing out candy.I also love primitive old fashioned Halloween decorations and stuff too. Your house was cheap (cost wise) compared to here, that would be about $200k up this way, You got a great deal on that house and it is cute too. I'll have to post a picture of my house and maybe you girls can help me figure out how to make it look better from the outside.
Ah ha !!! This is called "curb appeal" - HGTV has several programs each week where a team of professionals come in and, with just a few changes, there is a fantastic difference - have you seen these programs?
I think my TV is permanently stuck on that channel! I checked into that, you have to pay for it, if they came and did it for free then I would be all over it. I have to put a picture of the back of my house for you to see what I mean, when I get home today...
